Hi Evey,
I think you must know we are back from Australia and I have finally caught up enough to be able
to sit down and write this to you and send you some photos. As soon as we returned I had to
go to a convention for 5 days in Anaheim and I just never seemed to be able to shake that jet-lag until this week. I did set a new record in my class E/Modified Sports, AND managed to be
the first female to go over 200 MPH by going 205 MPH. Then Doug Odom went 220 MPH after
changing to a C engine! The salt was great, it went on forever, and the people were fabulous,
not only all the Aussie racers, but everyone everywhere we went. We had a fabulous time and
hope other Americans will consider making the trip. It is truly a once in a life time adventure that
should not be missed. Check out DLRA photos and results at
http://www.geocities.com/dlra2 .
I finally got about 20 photos scanned into my computer and I will send you
several. I have sent them to Wendy Jeffries who wants to do a follow-up story to this month's
issue which tell's about our racing career and plans for Australia. So some of the same photos
may show up in her newspaper too. Let me know if you want more but I will send you only 4 or 5
for now. I will do each one individually in case it is easier for you to work with them, like before.
Thanks for putting in such a nice section on the website. We checked it out while we were in
Australia and gave your web address to several Aussies too. See you Saturday at the BBQ!
Thanks again, Gail Phillips
